The digitisation knowledge base
These pages describe the processes and services as they are being implemented at Digitarium, the digitisation centre of the Finnish Museum of Natural History and the University of Eastern Finland in Joensuu. The processes have been combined into various service packages which also are described here. In effect, these documents form the quality handbook of Digitarium.
The work of enhancing the digitisation processes began at Digitarium in 2009. As we strive to improve the process continuously, and new methods are being introduced, also these guidelines evolve. So far, these methods have been implemented for plants in herbarium sheets, and pinned insect specimens.
